Christopher Coccaro has been a member of NUSAR since October 2016. A graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Marine Studies and Minor in Biology and Manhattan College with a Masters in Environmental Engineering, Christopher has an avid interest in the marine environment. Christopher started his SCUBA experience in 2005 and in 2010 he became a Divemaster helping teach discover scuba diving, open water, advanced, rescue, and Divemaster classes. Christopher is also a member of the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk’s volunteer dive time which dives in the Beyond the Sound exhibit which houses seven sand tiger sharks, 1 lemon shark, and a number of other pelagic species. Dives include question and answer sessions with the public while diving on SCUBA which educate the public on sharks biology, ocean sciences, ocean conservation, and SCUBA.
